Best!
This is the best, most comprehensive, book on how/what to feed your baby that I have seen.It has information on breastfeeding, bottle-feeding, and other newborn feeding information as well as how to start and progress with solids.I have found this most helpful with transitioning and progressing solids. It has a handy schedule, based on age, showing suggestions for what to feed and when. Some of the allergy-information is a little outdated from what the AAP now thinks but everything else seems solid!

Love this book!
I initially borrowed this book from a friend when I had my first child. When my daughter (2nd child) came I had to buy my own! Great general guidelines for when to start different foods. I also enjoy some of the recipes to make baby food.

Great resource for parents
My little guy will eat anything, but I never know exactly what I should or shouldn't be feeding him. Just because he will eat it, does it mean he should? I'm always wondering how I can pack the best nutritional punch into each meal and snack. The book "Baby Bites" has helped me answer many of these questions.I recently had the opportunity to review Baby Bites by Bridget Swinney, MS, RD. I would recommend this book to any parent of a newborn or toddler. If you struggle trying to figure out what to feed your child, this book is definitely for you. It has 160 great recipes and hundreds of practical feeding and safety tips for parents. It covers a wide range of topics from breast feeding and formula feeding, starting solids, storing foods and even the importance of eating together at the table as a family. I love how the author is non-judgemental. Her advice is straight forward and simple. The book takes you step by step through feeding your child as he (or she) ages. Starting with nursing/formula feeding and progressing onto to regular table foods. The recipes are simple and easy to follow. My son loves the French Toast with Blueberry Syrup found in the book. The recipes use basic pantry staples that even I had in my cupboard. Most recently my daughter has acquired a taste for avocados so we made the Avocado and Chicken recipe found in the book. My daughter wouldn't eat it, but my son was game to try! I tried it myself and it was pretty good. The recipes aren't fussy which is great since my husband didn't follow the recipe exactly, he eye-balled the measurements based on the amount of ingredients we had on hand. The book offers many new and old tips on how to feed your little one. It's divided into easy to read sections and has helped me understand my baby's eating habits and nutritional needs and has helped me find ways to encourage healthy eating habits. Baby Bites is well worth the small investment. Even if you are buying it late in the game it still has lots of great ideas for everyone!Disclosure: I received the products mentioned above for this review. No monetary compensation was received by me. This is my completely honest opinion above and may differ from yours.

Such good info
Reviewed by Jamie DriggersBabies don't come with instruction manuals, and though it seems like the process of feeding them should be instinctual, many times it is far from it. Enter Baby Bites, a comprehensive guide to feeding your baby from birth through the difficult toddler years.Whether you plan to feed with bottle or breast, each has factors that can make the process more or less difficult. Both are covered in this book as is the transition from breast to bottle. Have questions about what you can eat or take while nursing? It's covered. What are the differences between the additives in various brands of baby food? It's in there. If your child prefers fruit over veggies, which fruits have similar vitamin content? Covered. Do you plan to make your own baby food? Would you like some recipes? Are there some tools that are better than others? Yep. Yep. Yep. You'll find the information. And lots more. This is a book that you will probably want to buy and keep on your shelf for reference. It isn't particularly easy to read from cover to cover, but as a quick guide it would be quite useful. The book contains food charts, diet guides, questions with answers. There are sections dealing with food allergies and colic. There is way more information than most parents will ever want to know. But, of course, we don't know what we want and need to know until we need to know it, do we?This book provides you with more than just strategies for feeding your child well, it is an all-inclusive guide to feeding with bonus side issues that are often the result of feeding. I especially appreciated her more balanced opinions on the types of food regarded as more "healthy."Armchair Interviews says: A great gift for new parents (or grandparents).
