I got this to help the battery from loosing voltage from lack of use it shuts down the battery so voltage stays up. Works well

These switches are made to fit the positive battery post, only. (Yes, the neg. post is smaller than the pos.) If you are certain you want to install your disconnect switch on the negative post, you don't want this item. These blades are completely naked and make it far more likely that there will be accidental shorting between the positive and negative posts. I would pay extra, and much prefer, a switch that has rubber coating on non contact parts of the switch to help prevent accidental shorting, which can do serious damage. Otherwise, aside from the cheap materials it is made with, it does seem to be fairly well made. It was made to sell in a very competitive market, not to the the highest quality product of it's kind. It does the job. Whether it will withstand the test of time remains to be seen.

Our car says to disconnect the negative battery cable after setting the transmission to neutral flat towing mode. This makes it much easier then removing the cable every time. Just be sure to slip a piece of cardboard into it when you open the switch, that keeps it from accidental closing on a a rough road.

I have a vehicle that doesn't get driven much and I've toasted more than one battery because the vehicle has some slow current drain that I haven't been able to track down. I've tried other battery cut off switches, but they were clumsy and ineffective and in some cases just didn't work.This shut off is so simple. When I first saw it, I couldn't imagine why anyone would use anything else. It's pretty large, but it's made to accommodate a lot of amps, so you want large, heavy, copper. You want this. No installation required, per se. No drilling, no screws. Just disconnect you battery terminal. Set this on top of the battery and then connect your battery terminal to the other end. Under 5 minutes.The only caveat is: It is pretty big compared to some other devices, so make sure you have room to install and use it. You can modify the installation to have the knife swing up or to the side, so you have some flexibility there. If you have the room, this is the perfect solution.

Easy to install, and does the job perfectly!

Great for when you have a parasitic drain on the battery. Flipping this will preserve it while not driving for a long period of time. It does however get more stiff over time.

These work well in out vintage tractors as a safety device.

取り付け跡が有り全体に変色汚れの有るのが届きました。多少の取り付け跡なら使おうと思いましたが、錆汚れも有り数年使用された感じの製品で返品依頼し送りましたがそれっきり何の応答も有りません。まさかその様な対応に成るとは思ってなかったので製品の画像も撮影していませんでした。真摯な対応が有れば評価変えます。とても残念です。追記返品手続き完了し返金が有りました。amazonの返金手続きが少々分かりにくい所が有ります。製品は良い物なので製品管理を慎重にして頂く事を願います。
