A plug mine in and it worked just fine just as described.I did not even get a era message. !Makes my life so much easier. My old method is to use Google Drive drop the photos and then retrieve them. This baby is a beast I love it!I do recommend ordering a bag to put it in for protection purposes only. I added a picture of mine below

I tried every possible setting on camera for usb transfer and tried SD card with jpegs in a DCIM folder, even though I can't get the camera to save jpegs to a DCIM folder I created one nonetheless just to test it. No go. IPad said that this devise does not work with this iPad. I ignored that and it still wouldn't transfer. Thank heavens for Amazon's fair policy on returns for deceptively promoted items. I don't see how it could. I may have to break down and buy the Apple branded do-hickey.

Works as promised, will not work with iPhone 6 only iPad..

I bought it to connect my Yamaha Keyboard to my iPad Air 2 using USB, and it works flawless. Still cautious about the quality.

Bought this item to download photos and videos to take on vacation so we wouldn't need to take laptops and our ipads. it gives us nothing but trouble downloading. sometimes it works and others it won't. It won't download video and after only using it twice we now get error messages that it isn't compatible with the ipad. tried using it with a usb device and it says the usb needs too much power so that port is useless. Would not recommend this purchase.

This accessory worked great for a while. I used it to upload photos from an SD card from my DSLR camera to my iPad. It did work initially and would pop up a prompt on my iPad that alerted me that it was not a supported accessory. Eventually after an Apple update on my iPad, it no longer works and will not allow any files to be transferred. But, while it was working, it worked great. Unfortunately, Apple products eventually stop allowing non apple accessories to work. Shame on Apple!

I owned a device similar to this one that worked well with my 1st generatin iPad. I bought this one to fit my new iPad Air. This unit didn't work at all with either my iPad Air or my iPhone 5s. Nothing....Very disappointing. Not worth the cost of shipping it bac so I'll just toss it.

Worked perfectly on our trip to Thailand in January.I was able to download my pictures tot he IPAD Mini so I could post them to my friends. Unfortunately these devices do not support the downloading of videos I took.This could be an IPAD problem.
