Works amazingly
I bought 3 of these and couldn’t be happier. I called the company prior, hoping to get a little discount, but they didn’t offer one. My husband, son and I are all impressed with how soon the radar notifies us, as far as 3 miles out! We like how we can set the city/Hwy speeds and we can “mark” areas when they are speed signs etc. We watched many videos and definitely recommend it! Note: We haven’t used the cameras yet.

Big Question
From midwest to northeast, noticed enforcers setup without triggering detector yet monitoring traffic, also along highway pulling over vehicles. Didn't aggressively speed, no need but wonder if R8 can be useless.

Overpriced get the R7
No differences other than button placement, the camera they include is garbage. Get the R7 and save yourself some money

Overpriced and lame
1. Comes with old pre-BT firmware.2. Doesn't sit flat on dashboard, since the bottom is angled.3. It's just too bulky and awkward.4. Coiled power cable is horrendously thick and it pulls to much.5. The RJ11 connector sticks out too much.5. Doesn't power via USB.6. Too expensive.

Good, while it worked. Screen faded.
Have had this for 18 months. Bought directly from Uniden. It worked fairly well and detected multiple types of radars. Had a moderate amount of false alerts, which you can silence. Menu system looks like it was designed in 1980. Definitely not modern and not updated for the price of this unit.Warranty is 1 year and at 18 months screen faded to where it's not visible during daylight/regular hours making the unit nearly useless. Uniden' s support requires you to estimate the repair cost yourself and ship it to them with a check if you are out of warranty. Not sure how that's supposed to work as I don't know what will be required to fix it. So I donated the unit. Won't buy Uniden again. Moving to an Escort.
