HUGE hit among kids!!
Update: I used the fountain for my daughter's birthday party again yesterday and once again it was a HUGE hit! I used the same Sephra real milk chocolate and had several people comment about how great it tasted. The fountain worked just as great this year and we went through 4 pounds of chocolate again with about 20 kids and 15 adults. It has been worth every penny!I bought this chocolate fountain to use at my daughter's 8th birthday party (Lion King themed). It worked great and was a HUGE hit among the kids and adults! I was nervous on party day because I didn't try it out first as I didn't want to waste chocolate or deal with clean up. It was very easy to set up. I chose to use the Sephra brand chocolate that you do not have to add oil to. It was very simple to use as well, just microwave in the bag, massage bag, and repeat until liquid. I preheated the chocolate fountain for about 5 minutes then it took me about 10 minutes of melting and massaging to prepare 4 pounds of chocolate. I dumped it in and turned it on. It flowed but didn't cover nicely so, per the instructions, I "burped" it. You just turn it off wait 20 seconds and turn it back on. It flowed beautifully after this (just like in the picture I posted). This fountain requires a minimum of 3 lbs of chocolate and has a maximum of 4 lbs. I used the 4 pounds for about 50 people (about half kids) and it was just right. When I turned the fountain off and dumped it there was probably 1/2 - 3/4 lbs left. I turned the fountain on about 3:15 and off about 7. It ran nicely the entire time with zero maintenance from me. It didn't flow as smoothly once some of the chocolate was eaten but that was to be expected and still worked just fine. I did find 2 dropped apple slices in the melted chocolate when I dumped it but that didn't seem to bother it either! I was really dreading cleaning this thing up but that was nearly as bad as I expected. I chose not to save any chocolate as that just didn't seem very sanitary to me after food (and probably kids hands) had been dipped in it. I would suggest a pair of gloves for clean up so your hands aren't covered in chocolate. I used the gloves to pull the tiers and the augur our. This was just a bit tricky because it was slippery so I had someone hold on to the base while I pulled and that was very helpful. I wiped as much of the chocolate as possible off with a paper towel (didn't want it in my pipes) then rinsed in hot water. This was very easy and these parts are dishwasher safe. I dumped the leftover chocolate out of the base onto the plastic disposable tablecloth it was sitting onand rolled it up and threw it away. I wiped the chocolate out with a paper towel them cleaned with a wet cloth. I'd say clean up and disassembly took about 20 mins. That was worth it for the joy the kids got from it! I was also concerned about it being hot around kids but that was not an issue either. The fountain keeps the chocolate warm but not hot and the base doesn't get too hot either. I can't wait to use it again!

Pleasantly surprised.
Plesantly surprised that is actually worked. We did end up using a small amount of oil to make it flow better and i do not recommend melting it in the fountain as it took over an hour to melt. I didn't like how it looked after it ran for over an hour but it was still functional.

it was so easy to assemble and run
OMG! I got this item 2 days before I had to use it. I brought it to work for our Friday "breakfast club" thing. I was scared not being able to test it out before hand, but.......it was so easy to assemble and run. I left the heat on all day and did not change the taste of the chocolate. It was a big hit! Everybody had fun and even the people who did not try had a great time looking at the set up. I even had a few people talked about getting 1 for their use. I also got the Sephra chocolate and it was 1 of the best chocolates I've had :) The clean up afterwards (at work) was a little challenging, but, I had a few guys just sticking their fingers in the "pot" to help me clean out the chocolates and ran the plastic tiers through hot water. When I got home I soaked them in warm sudsy water and cleaning was a breeze. I definitely enjoyed this product and would recommend it! Thanks again Sephra!Update: I got this Feb 2016 and as mentioned above, it was amazing and a big hit. Used it again around May, great but noticed that the "heater" did not get as hot as the 1st time. Did not think of it. I used it again today 6/23/16 and the heater did not work at all. Can somebody please tell me if the motor is replaceable or is this thing dead now - wonder if I can exchange. It was still good while it lasted - though it did not last that long :( I did put 5 stars at first but am now taking it down to 3

Sephra makes Amazing Chocolate Fountains!
I bought this fountain, which is the smallest of Sephra's line of chocolate fountains, for my daughter's Sweet 16 Party. It was a huge hit!It is a VERY NICE looking fountain and VERY QUIET! I found it very helpful to watch the YouTube videos by Sephra. This size serves 20-30 people. I thought about getting a bigger one but opted for the smaller one to use for more intimate occasions. This size uses 4 pounds of chocolate.I used the Sephra Milk Chocolate because you don't have to add anything to the chocolate to get the right consistency. It's perfect out of the bag. You can melt the chocolate in the fountain basin (takes about 45 minutes, stirring often) since it has separate switches for turning on the heat and the fountain. To speed things up, you can melt the chocolate in the microwave.VERY IMPORTANT: Once you have started the fountain and it doesn't look like the beautiful flow that it should be, you NEED TO BURP THE FOUNTAIN. You do this by turning off the fountain switch (leaving the heat switch on), and wait till you see the air bubbles escape out of the top of the fountain. Once the bubbles stop, turn the fountain on again. It should be PERFECT after that! Also, make sure your fountain is level, this could create an uneven flow as well. This was more expensive than other brands of fountains, but the QUALITY of this fountain is WELL WORTH IT! It looks like this fountain will last for years of use.Note: After your party, you can pour any chocolate remaining in the fountain into a storage container and re-use it! So, nothing goes to waste!
