This is the third time that I've given new life to a Stihl product with one of these 'cheaper' carburetors. (Once on a leafblower and now twice on this weedeater.) The tubing and carburetor air filter don't fit the Stihl FS85 weedeater, but the carb is an exact replacement and there are proper gaskets in the kit. The weedeater fired off on the second pull and I ran it for more than an hour. It's like brand new. If your weedeater is having trouble with idling, won't reach full, steady speed, or shutting off randomly (which is a major pain) there's a good chance this will cure its ills, and yours as well. (Make sure you don't have an air leak on the fuel suction line from the tank to the carburetor before you buy. That will cause all sorts of devious issues.)

My FS 45C STIHL weedeater wouldn`t pull any fuel up to the primer bulb. Guessing the diaphram to be bad I requested a new one from a STIHL dealer. They recommended a new carburetor and wanted $45 for it. Got this one instead for a lot less and with a lot more. I put the new carb on with a new gasket and air filter, primed the bulb and it fired up first pull and ran perfectly without any adjustments. I`m so impressed I can`t even complain about not having enough to do.

Even though it was lost in mail a few days, I finally received the kit. I installed the carb, air filter, & fuel filter. It fired off and ran perfectly the first crank without any carb tweaking. The only issue was the new fuel/vent line would not work on my trimmers. The HS45 has a separate fuel tank port for the vent and the fuel uptake lines. I used the existing lines as they were in good condition. I have replaced several carbs on my various Stihl equipment with aftermarket carbs, and have always had good success. Would buy again.

My stihl trimmer was working fine then after shutting off for a break it would not restart. I was going to take it into a local shop but I heard the cost to repair would probably exceed the current value. So after some research bought this kit on Amazon.On receiving I was very pleased to see that the kit contains everything you need to replace the carb and rebuild the fuel system. Plus included a replacement spark plug. There were no instructions so I watched a couple of youtube videos then attempted the replacement.It went well and surprisingly quick, about 10 minutes start to finish.My trimmer starts easily and runs well. Once it warmed up I needed to tweak the high speed setting a touch and the low speed as well. Very pleased with the outcome.I would recommend you watch youtube videos on how to replace the carb, You'll also need some thin wall sockets for the carb hold down nuts.Overall one of the better investments I have made and very pleased

I was a little skeptical at first, given the number of positive reviews for such a low-priced item, but the reviews weren't wrong. Carb went on very easily- took about 15 minutes, including wiping the trimmer down before removing the old carb. There were quite a few extra gaskets included, so it was a 'find the right one' situation, but the extras were appreciated. Finished the install, primed the bulb, pulled 10x with the ignition 'off', switched to 'on', pulled 3x and it was running. Let it warm up for a bit with full choke, then opened the choke and started trimming. I'm very impressed that I didn't have to do any fiddling with the carb adjustments to get it to run right. My Stihl never ran smoothly since the day I bought it- hard to start, always had to pull the air filter as part of the starting procedure, would bog down under throttle, etc. Came very close to buying a new trimmer, but opted to try this carb first. 15 minutes and my trimmer runs great!

I used this carb on a Stihl FS-80 weed eater.The issue I was having was the unit bogging down and dying when trying to go to full power (trigger fully pulled).I tried to clean the old carb and the muffler/etc..Nothing worked.I ordered this carb kit and installed it and the first FS-80 started on the first pull.The carb fit perfectly. The quality was fine, perhaps not as robust as the original but for the price I think the quality was more than acceptable.

Wow, 4 spare primer bulbs. Would rather have got 2 extra bulbs and a spare gas filter. Don't expect the carb. to resemble the original one on a F45 model. The extra long black plastic extensions around the fule adjusting screw make it impossible to install the air filter housing. Had to Dremel off about 1/4" of it. Research and development needs to fix this. Other than that problem I loved it. It would have been nice of them to include a HOW TO INSTALL, video link for us armatures. I found one that helped on You Tube. Started and ran well.

This carburetor is not a direct fit for a Stihl HS45 hedge trimmer. You must remove your throttle cable connector from your old carburetor, as your throttle cable end will not fit the slot on the carburetor throttle lever. This involves removing c-clip on each carburetor and switching parts. A pain in the butt.Fuel lines in kit are unusable as they don't fit tank. Gaskets are slightly different so I used my old gaskets. Felt air filter is identical, but other filter and prefilter don't match. Fuel filter may work but doesn't match.I have not fueled and fired up hedge trimmer with new carburetor, but will try it out this weekend.Fueled up hedge trimmer and it started on first pull. Engine ran very well with no adjustment of the carburetor.I would advise trying to match your Zama carburetor number so you don't need to replace the throttle cable connector.
