Everything a food processor SHOULD BE!
The Breville Paradise 16 is everything that a food processor SHOULD be. The price tag is a little steep at $699, but it is worth every penny. I've owned and used many different food processors over the years, and they all tend to do things "good enough". I've had the Paradice 16 for about a week now, and it does everything I have tried "really well"; sliced mushrooms, guacamole, caponata, tapenade, sliced onions, sliced peppers, carrots, cabbage, and shredded cheese with minimal waste compared to other food processors. The motor is really powerful and handles slicing, dicing, and chopping with ease. The dicing functionality is about what I expected, it is great for when you are doing large quantities of diced products, I was able to plow through 60 tomatoes, several onions, and jalapenos for a batch of salsa in just a few minutes, and again with minimal waste. The diced vegetables were uniform in size and shape and were cut, and not crushed at all. The adjustable slicing blade is also pretty awesome! Between the power of the machine and the sharpness of the blade, it cuts cleanly with little to no crushing or tearing, even for mushrooms which are usually pretty terrible when sliced in a food processor. One REALLY nice feature about the adjustable blade is that there is a "storage" position where the sharp edge of the blade is tucked down and away in line with the rest of the disc so it is much safer to clean and handle. The design and features of the Paradice 16 is about as perfect as you can get for a food processor. The buttons are nice, large, responsive, and easy to push. The timer display is well lit and easy to read. I love the fact that it doesn't have a spindle sticking up like Cuisinarts and many other processors do. It makes it much easier to store, and the fact that you don't have a giant hole in the middle of your bowl makes it much easier to use with liquids and larger quantities of chopped or diced foods. The fit and finish of the machine is perfect, the stainless case looks fantastic, doesn't leave fingerprints, and cleans easily. The shape of the body has nice areas at the bottom that make it easy to grip and carry, and the wieght of the machine paired with the quality of the rubber feet make it VERY stable. The cord storage is very nice, as it just pushes back into the housing, so you don't have to coil it around the base or wrap it, making it very clean and easy to store. The bowl has a very nice handle that is easy to grip, large 16 cup capacity, a nice large pour spout, and is made of a very high quality clear plastic with nice, clear measurement markings. I also LOVE the fact that the machine not only comes with a huge set of blades and disks, but it also has caddies with spots for each blade, disc, spindle, and tool. Everything is clearly marked and numbered so you know where everything goes. The caddies themselves are pretty large, but they are made of a high quality smokey-clear plastic that looks really nice.I did see another reviewer complain about the lack of the peeling disk that was previously included in the Sous Chef 16 Peel and Dice it. The Paradice 16 does indeed have a peeling disk available and listed on their website, but it is not available to purchase. I called customer service and they sent me the peeling disc for free. My guess is that it was not a disc that was commonly used, so they opted to make it an optional accessory.Overall the Paradice 16 is a well thought out and very high quality food processor and definitely a great tool to have in the arsenal of the serious cook. The blades are sharp, there are lots of included blades and discs, the motor is powerful and quiet (compared to other food processors I have owned), and the fit and finish is fantastic. I definitley struggled with the price point since most good food processors run hundreds less, but given the quality of the machine, how well it is thought out, and all of the things that you can ACTUALLY DO with it (i.e. do without having to compromise on quality of the end product) I will say the Paradice 16 is 100% worth the price.

Worth every penny - even bought one for our son and daughter in law!
AMAZING! Everything about it is perfect - chopping, slicing, grinding. What used to take minutes now takes seconds! HUMMUS forever!!! Ease of use in every aspect as well as cleaning. Expensive though, but worth it in our house!

Huge upgrade over our old Cuisinart
We've had a Cuisinart food processor for something over 20 years. It worked, that's the best I could say about it. This Breville is the food processor that the Cuisinart hopes it becomes when it grows up.This thing is a beast - it's super powerful, but also beautifully designed. All the parts fit right, the bowls are a heavy, clear plastic (polycarbonate?) and the adjustable slicing blade replaces a rack full of blades for the Cuisinart. I like the smaller bowl, I actually use that the most. I used to have a little Kitchen-Aid mini-chopper, which was convenient, but they seemed to last about a year. This Breville has the power and substance to last a long time (I hope). The storage boxes for the accessories are great, though they do take up quite a lot of room. They do eliminate the need to re-wash each tool you use because they're dirty from sitting on a shelf.I haven't tried the dicing function yet, I hope it works as well as the rest of the machine.

Not a good processor
An absolute disappointment. I was so excited for this but this was just not well done. The dicing kit was terrible. It cracked open from dicing onions. The blade at the bottom of the s blade is not as low as it should be and I had a bunch of spices that did not get processed. The machine looks great but I was very disappointed with the dicing kit and the s blade. Thanks to Amazon, I could return it.

The ultimate kitchen machine
OMG!!!! This machine is heaven. I love, love, love it! Probably the only drawback is the weight when you are moving it around.
