The magnets still work fine, so these are functional that way & use them every day. But the cording on the ball part of them started unraveling about 6 months after I got them. I kept thinking that I would glue the thread/cord back, and never did, and now it's completely unraveled about a year after I got them, revealing the plain wood underneath. I still haven't cut the thread off, so now if I don't lay them down separate from each other, they get caught up with each other. And of course, they look crappy this way. I would love for them to be replaced by the seller if possible, but in the mean time will probably just cut the thread off and maybe paint the wood (but just like every other project I have, probably won't do that either). It's too bad, because otherwise I like the magnet design a lot. Hate to spend more $$ when what I have works, but no longer looks nice.

Original review: In just four months, product is falling apart with everyday normal use. Disappointed as they are very easy to use, and curtains do stay back, but they are not made well and are beginning to unwind. For how much these cost, I would have expected them to last longer.Update: I have changed my rating from 1 star to 4, as I recently received a full refund for the defective product, and also a replacement product. It has only been a few days that I am using the new tiebacks, but I am hopeful they will stay together as I understand the specs have been updated and product has been improved. So far, so good, and happy that customer service is doing what they can to address the issue.

Edit 10/31/2018:The company reached out with an offer to send me an updated/improved version of the product. I just received it today and it does look durable. I think the company’s response and willingness to improve the experience deserves 5 stars.Original Review:I enjoyed these for about three months when a decorative string unwound itself on one of the tie backs - the glue holding it together let go.

The tiebacks seemed like a good deal when we first ordered them - 4 tiebacks in one order - however, on the first day, when we put the magnets together, one broke right away (oddly enough, the steel magnetic part broke in half), so we were left with 3 ties to use. Now, less than 1 year after purchase, 2 of the other ties had their magnets break off too. I prefer to purchase a product that last more than a year, rather than contribute to more junk in the landfill. Disappointed with the quality.

Love the look with my sheer ivory curtains! Have gotten lots of compliments on them. They look very classy without drawing too much attention. The gray had a sheen to it, looks more silver than I expected but I love the way it looks with my mercury glass curtain rod!The magnets are strong enough to hold each other together but do not attach themselves to metal that gets too close (I was worried about that). They don't hold my curtains quite as far to the side as I'd like (could be due to my curtains being so lightweight) so I'm going to add a tiny hook to the wall to keep them pulled to the side.

EDIT March 2019 - after one year these are totally falling apart. The magnets still work but the string looped around the ends is unwinding and falling off and it looks like a mess. Disappointed. Need to replace them and won’t be buying from this brand.These are working beautifully for me. So easy to put in place and to take off, and they are easy to store when you take them down, they take up hardly any room at all. Highly recommend.

I started using these about a month ago and initially loved them. I really liked the fact that, even when I want to close the curtains, the tiebacks can stay attached to the curtains with the magnets. I also liked that they can be tied in different configurations. The magnets are powerful enough. HOWEVER, the string that encircles the bulbs with the magnetic parts is coming undone, so it doesn't look good anymore. I'm really disappointed!

These arrived and were all falling apart before I even took them out of the box. The thread wrapped around the ball ends are not glued to the wood ball. I love the color and the magnets seem ok but I can't even use them unless I take the time and patience to glue them properly. Really disappointed in the quality. I used to trust Amazon but some of the products they are allowing to be sold through their website are very lacking in quality.

Love them. They looked amazing with our grey/silver curtains. Magnets were strong enough to hold in place without any problems.

It looks good but keep out of reach of children. My tiebacks were actually unraveling and messed up at the middle because my little guy bent it. It’s like a tiny rope stuck on with glue. I’m not sure how to fix it and I’m not going to spend so much money on tieback again.

The thread covering the ball ends is not glued on very well and has fallen off. I own 6 of these ties and it has happened to all of them. But I gave 3 stars because the product does work well as far as tieing up the curtains. I painted the ball ends with a paint marker , matching rope color, after the threads came unglued.
