Yagote Lily Pipe Glass Outflow Surface Skimmer Set 13mm 17mm for Aquarium Planted Tank

I bought these and am using them with a Fluval 307 Canister Filter in my 17 gallon ADA 60P tank for my planted setup. The large opening of the pipe decreases the output pressure and spreads it to a larger, more gentle flow pattern. This is especially useful because using an oversized filter for my small tank produces a very strong current with the original pipes. Because the pipes are clear, they also blend themselves in to the tank a lot better and look classier in my opinion. I also bought some clear tubing to use for the filter so I wouldn't have ugly black tubes hanging out of my tank as well. Some have complained about breaking the pipes installing the tubing but I had no issues. Wet the pipes and tubing with warm water and slowly work them up the pipe. It took less than a minute for each pipe.

My lily pipe arrived damaged. There was a noticeable crack in the lily part of the outflow about 3/4" long. It would probably still work fine, but it's not perfect and for something like glass inflow/outflow, I want them to be perfect. My package also only came with 2 suction cups when there should be (I assume) four of them since there are spots for 2 on each of the outflow and the inflow pipes. Of all the things they'd skimp on, I find it strange that it would be suction cups. I have contacted the seller about my damaged outflow. We'll see what happens. For now, I give it 2 stars cause the inflow pipe is great.UPDATE:The seller responded and sent out a replacement for the lily pipe. For the quick and friendly response, I've added a star for customer service. However, it seems quality control is still a problem. The new replacement lily pipe does not have an obvious crack, but it DOES have stress cracks (or scratches) at the point where the pipe portion expands to the lily bulb portion. Since it's not obvious, I'll use it. But for the pristine, clean look I was looking for, these small stress cracks just take away from the perfection I was hoping for. Hence, overall I'm giving 3 stars. I hope the seller can put more effort toward quality control. Packaging seems great, so it's just a matter of inspecting the pipes before packing them.

Your browser does not support HTML5 video.  SKIMMER ONLY WORKS AFTER MODIFICATION. I bought This specifically to be a skimmer. IT DOES NOT WORK RIGHT OFF THE BAT. It’s too light weight and does not suck in water because it floats too much. I took a butter knife and heated it on the stove and had to create ridges HALFWAY UP on the bottom half of the cup in order to reduce the air bubble that keeps the skimmer floating. after being modified it works swimmingly. I’m very happy that I did not have to pay for an expensive skimmer. Hopefully this review helps those who need a skimmer. I also took the butter knife and deepened the existing ridges on the top half of the cup to allow more water to draw through.

Pipe snapped at suction cup attachment. Suction cup stayed stuck to glass, but pipe failed, pulled away, and sprayed water all over room. It did this on its own, just from the pump running. No other damage or abuse. 2 mos old. The glass is too thin to be safe.Flooded carpet, water raining from ceiling onto for below.Managed to catch it within minutes, but 20g still got the floor. Had I been away, it would have seen utter disaster and hundreds of not thousands in damage.DO NOT TRUST THIS PART! YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!Previous review:Packaged well. I'm just going to get right to the unfortunate details. Put these in. Working great. Next morning I wake up and half a dozen snails are sucked into the inflow like the Alien in Alien 4. I turn down the pump to survey the damage... They didn't make it. Snail were torn inside out. Shrimp broken in half by the pressure. It was a grizzly scene. That's the sad day I learn to cover my inflow... Rest in peace, little buddies. I let you down. :(Otherwise, they did what they said they'd do - water went into the pump and came back out. Taking 1 star off because cleaning algae and snail guts out of glassware is a real pain. 4/5 stars

Looks great, works great! My second set of glass lily pipes, and first with the built in skimmer. Love these. I put them on a powerful filter, which just sucked the skimmer thingy down underwater and prevented it from doing its job, but I moved it to a smaller filter, and it's fantastic. Keeps the surface clean, and you can adjust the strength of the intake at the bottom with a twist of the angled cylinder inside. Super slick. The outflow is perfect, dampened by the bowl, providing just enough current for what I need. I'm most impressed by the suction cups! Most in the hobby are cheap and won't stick long, but these are strong and do not fall off! Price and shipping time were both great. I typically don't mention shipping time in product reviews, but my first set of lily pipes took forever to arrive from China. These did not. Here in a few days.I'll be getting at least one more set of these.

Good looking lily pipe but I had to put a sponge filter on the bottom which makes it a bit ugly. The slits are just large enough that anytime my mystery snails went over the intake they would get sucked out of their shells. My canister filter isnt even super strong (SICCE 350). Still worth the use however.Just be sure to protect your snails. The filters that fit over perfectly are Sweep Hose Tail Scrubber (just search in amazon)You can see the black filter in the left middle of the picture posted.

Just like the other piece I purchased from this company, great product! I was skeptical about the protein skimmer working or not. But it does! It’s cleared up the water surface in minutes! Water flow is far better than anything I’ve used.Update: I honestly thought this thing was gonna break or the skimmer wasn’t gonna work. But it has proven to not only skim surface crud but has dramatically improved the water quality. This was the best investment I’ve made for my 20 gallon.
