HCO Spartan SR1-WDCB
The first customer's review is somewhat misleading about this product. HCO sells two wireless Spartan Blackout Flash models. One is a 2G GSM (SR1-2GB) style camera (Which will soon be inoperable when AT&T switches their 2G network off) and a 3G model (SR1-WDCB) that works on the AT&T and/or T-Mobile network. The battery life only lasting two weeks is due to turning a feature on called "SMS Control." This allows an individual to send the camera commands from anywhere you have cell signal to make changes to the settings or to just receive a photo or status report. When this feature is set to the "On" position, it is the same as you leaving your cell phone 24/7 in the woods using up your battery even though your not using it. If this feature is set to "Off" the camera will last three to four months on a good set of rechargeable AA batteries. I have the 3G Spartan and use the SMS Control feature being the camera is 3 1/2 hours away from where I live. To prevent low voltage issues from occurring, I've setup an external battery on a solar panel so I wouldn't have to worry about changing batteries. This camera is a very good camera and has a very good illumination range at night but can be temperamental at times when changing settings (This can be prevented by restoring the camera back to default settings before making any system changes within the menu options.

Love the camera
Love the camera. I've bought 6 HCO cameras and enjoy getting pics from various hunting spots. A little trouble getting right AT&T plan going as they were not the GO CAM versions. Still would purchase again.

With wireless and motion the best I can get is about 180 photos
I does what it says it will do, however not where does the Seller tell the Buyer that the Wireless will stop working when G2 goes away. It is not a true G3 Camera according to HCO Rep. The Battery life is only 2 Week when the Wireless is on and set for a shot every 8 hours. With wireless and motion the best I can get is about 180 photos

Yay!!! Oh.... Wait....,
I slogged through dozens of product details to find a wireless cam that I could hook up to a solar panel so I could put it in a tall pine tree to watch our neighborhood owl couple raise their babies this year. I was SO excited when I got this one, only to read the instructions and find out that it won't transmit video, only still pics! Really?!?!? I can't risk climbing that stupid tree to retrieve video! Ugh.... So disappointed..

These wireless cameras are amazing, fun devices.
I find the quality of HCO cameras better than any I've had. I have up to 10 game cams operational all the time. 3 are HCO wireless. Yes, the 2g older version will sunset out in 2016 but the other 3G versions are great. I watch wildlife all day, deer, bobcats, coon, hogs & deer, plus one is for security. From anywhere in the world you get photos within 2 minutes. I have 2 set up with a gel-cell battery & solar panel. I have not tried other brands but I am in my 3rd year with HCO. Customer service with them and their dealers has been great.
