I sleep so much better
I've had asthma for near on 30 years and this has been the best thing since sliced bread for me.I should make you aware I have never written a review before, as I never really saw the point - there were so many other people who have said it before me, and better than me, on most products I buy that it was just a repeat, but with this product I am aware that there are a number of people who say it doesn't work. And granted it might not work for them, but I can say, for me, it has worked, and very distinctly. The first night I had it on, I could tell it was on - it actually made me feel a bit nauseous! I was surprised, but put it down to being sensitive to the low frequency waves it gives off to disrupt the dust mites life cycle. I got used to the waves, and it seemed to work. I could tell I thought - I wasn't taking as much antihistamine as I was previously. One night two weeks ago, I got cold at night, and the only thing to hand was my furry coat for winter, so I put it on top of me. I woke up the next morning with my face like a tap having reacted - the coat was full of dust mites, and clearly the appliance had been working for my bed next to it, but not for the coat that was further away in the wardrobe. Having removed the coat, that night and a couple of nights after it made me react more than I had become accustomed to, and had to take antihistamines to counteract - so clearly it was doing it's job, but it has been a gradual elimination since I'd bought the appliance, and the sudden introduction of mites again shocked me how well it had worked. For £20 it has made all the difference.

Seemed to work BUT….
I purchased this device in October 2021 as dr said my daughter’s constant sneezing was probably a dust mite allergy. It’s very unobtrusive, easy to use, the sneezing stopped almost immediately so was really happy. For almost all of 2022 we suffered from really extreme behaviour issues, seemingly very anxiety driven. Daughter was very withdrawn and seemed very depressed. Working with all sorts of agencies to resolve with no impact. For Xmas we got her something that needed to be plugged in and without thinking anything about it, I removed this plug with the intention of placing it in another and completely forgot to do it. In the two weeks or so since I did that, my daughter is almost back to her old self (still a bit stroppy at times but who isn’t!!??). The only thing that has changed in the house is the removal of this plug. So I can only assume she was sensitive to whatever it emits. This is in no way meant as a negative review, the plug worked to stop the sneezing rather than medication, just writing the review to make people aware in case they experience the same difficulties we did.

WOW!
My allergic GSD started her usual Springtime itching in February this year, and instead go easing off as usual, it got worse and worse culminating in a hotspot that overnight turned into one medium and one huge hotspot. She has never had hot spots before. After the first vet's visit she was prescribed NSAIDs because the vet thought she had sore hips due to the close proximity to the hot spots. I had to buy her an Elizabethan collar to try and stop her worrying the hot spots. I really didn't want to give my dog the pills as I try to do things with natural remedies, but I obviously took the vet's advice. After three days of NSAIDS with no improvement I stopped using them. I did manage to help clear up the hot spots by using raw organic cider vinegar (Bobby's) which worked really well, but didn't stop her biting and licking her legs and her coat. Next stop was back to the vet, this time for very very strong anti histamines, which again did absolutely nothing. I know my dog is allergic to dust mites because she was very itchy as a pup and was tested for allergens. I vaguely remembered the dust mite controller as I have had one before a few years ago, and when we moved it disappeared, and the itching had stopped. After moving house both my GSDs started itching again in the Spring. Anyway I bought the dust mite controller, and I can honestly say it has helped so very much even after a few days of constant use, and the effects have just got better and better as time goes on. My dogs live in the living room as my house is tiny, so the controller is next to their beds. So I have spent out £165 on the vet which the insurance won't pay for, for nothing. There is no more sitting down and scratching for England several times a day. No more hot spots, and no more madly licking and biting front legs and feet. For itching the very best immediate help is the Bobby's raw organic cider vinegar, just pour some on cotton wool and rub well in to the itchy bits. For long term protection use the Dust Mite Controller. I am now happy to have solved the problem, but am still annoyed at the waste of money at the vets.

Doesn't seem to work at all and the light keeps changing
I had a different brand to control dust mites for a few years and it was great once you got through the initial life cycle of the mites. This item doesn't seem to do anything. The light gets dimmer then brighter occasionally which wakes me up. I'm covered with itchy red lumps from the reaction to the mite dust, despite having special covers on my bedding. I waited 3 months to be sure it wouldn't stop their life cycle, so now it's too late to return it. Very disappointing.

pet problem
My 11 yr old retriever bitch was diagnosed as being allergic to dustmites so in an attempt to help this situation we purchased the Dust Mite Controller. We have only had it for about 3 weeks. The equipment itself is simple to understand, as to whether or not it helps our situation is difficult to tell. My dog has been on medication but has recently completed the course, so the coming weeks/months will tell what is actually working. At the moment the situation appears to be under control. Because the control of dust mites is so very difficult to sort out, if you have a problem, this piece of equipment is worth a try at this price.
