A nice solution for a problem i never knew existed. The simple fact that it does makes me realize that this problem is quite pervasive. This valve went in simply and the odors were eliminated.

Great design, but the gasket is kind of small in diameter and it is too soft. It works though.

This device solved my shower drain mild kickback of the drain trap water when a toilet close by was flushed; despite no sewer drain blockage.

Gasket is not well designed to serve as a water backflow valve in a 2" drain. It comes with a 1.5" gasket (blue) and a 2.3" overlay (orange), but no 2.0" gasket, which is what was needed. Compare to a competitor's product that is properly sized for a 2" pipe (black valve shown in image). You can force the 2.3" inch overlay into the drain (shown in image), but it's not clear how well this will hold up. Note that just setting the 2.3" overlay on top of the drain will neither block gas or water, since there's nothing to hold it in place. The brass portion seems to be well made, but the product lacks the appropriate gaskets to hold the device in place.
